Contractor Training and Workshops
- Construction Erosion Control, "What to Expect" (2012) - The purpose of this presentation is to help explain the City of Lafayette and West Lafayette’s perspective and goals for stormwater erosion control.
- NPDES Phase 2, Introduction and Background (Contractor's Workshop) (2012) - This presentation discusses the background of a stormwater program, environmental benefits of having such a program, and highlights important points from IDEM's Rule 5 and Rule 13.
- WREC Cost-Share Program (2012) - This presentation discusses some of the benefits of enrolling your property(ies) in a Cost-Share Program.
Stormwater Management Ordinance Training
In 2005, Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd. developed a series of training presentations geared toward educating residential and commercial interests about the newly adopted Stormwater Management Ordinance in Tippecanoe County. The elements of this 8-part series are summarized below.
- (1) Stormwater Quality Management Program Overview - This presentation discusses the following points: (1) Review of NPDES Regulations and the Tippecanoe County co-permittees’ Storm Water Quality Management Plan (SWQMP); (2) Current Stormwater Quality in the County; and (3) Local Area of Jurisdiction
- (2) Permit Application Procedures and Requirements - This presentation discusses the following points: (1)Procedures for Application Submittal and Review; (2) Data Requirements for Permit Applications; (3) Fees, Assurances, Permit Terms & Conditions, As-built Plans, and Maintenance Bonds; and (4) Individual Lot Requirements
- (3) Illicit Discharges - This presentation discusses the following issues related to illicit stormwater discharge: (1) Applicability and Exemptions; (2) Reason for Regulation; and (3) Illicit Discharges and Connections related to New Development and Re-development
