Below is a list of some of the 2010 events that the Tippecanoe County Partnership for Water Quality (TCPWQ) and/or Tippecanoe Soil & Water Conservation District (TSWCD) helped organize and/or promote. 2011 Events
August 24, 2011 - Bark for the Arc - The weather was beautful and lots of good looking dogs showed up with their owners for the event! - See photos from the event.
July 16-23, 2011 - 81st Annual Tippecanoe County 4-H Fair - See photos from the event.
July 9, 2011 - Wabash RiverFest - The Wabash Riverfest is an annual celebration of the rich history of the mighty Wabash River. The communities in the Greater Lafayette area were originally established to support trade along the River and thrived during the mid-1800′s because of the river traffic. This free family fun event began in in 2001 and promotes fun on and around the Wabash River and features food, canoe races and music with plenty of fun activities for children. A special feature is the presence of various environmental groups with displays and information on responsible use of the river and other natural resources. See photos from the event.
April 2, 2011 - De-Trash the Wabash - An estimated 350 people picked up litter and other trash Saturday morning and afternoon as part of the eighth annual Detrash the Wabash effort. April 15, 2011 - Wabash Sampling Blitz - WREC, Purdue University, Wabash River RC&D and other volunteers sampled 250+ stream sites. Volunteers were staged at one of four locations: north (Beck Agricultural Center), south (Tippecanoe SWCD office), west (Cicott Park, Independence), and now east in Wildcat Creek. June, 2011 - Freddie the Fish - Monica Christopher took a group of school children to the rivers bank to learn the basics of of clean water preservation and the effect of pollution on flora and fauna. To see pictures from the event, please click here.
June 21, 2011 - Shot Clinic at Shamrock Park - While pets were there to receive shots, TCPWQ Staff attended this event to educate pet owners about pet waste and the harmful effects on our river systems if not disposed of properly. Pets received bones, waste containers and frisbees! Click here for photos from the event.
2010 Events
- August 4th - Rain barrel display at the West Lafayette Farmers Market
- Augsut 3rd - TCPWQ promoting stormwater education for schools at the Greater Lafayette Homeschool Education Association open house
- August 3rd - Biological and chemical sampling of the water with the Lyn-Treece Boys and Girls Club at Wea Creek
- July 17th - 24th - Tippecanoe County 4-H Fair - TCPWQ partnered with SWCD and Wabash River Enhancement Corporation to promote rain barrel education and Wabash River education
- July 10th - TCPWQ rain barrel display at Wabash Riverfest
- June 23rd & July 14th - Host Purdue Athletes Life Success (PALS) Program summer camp

Storm Drain Marking Events
Throughout the months of June and July, the Tippecanoe County SWCD sponsored 16 events at local schools for marking storm drains. You can view a video of the Storm Drain Marking on YouTube.
